Guitar Lessons
Although Eli finds teaching advanced guitar lessons a gratifying musical experience, he is equally adept at teaching beginners. Looking out the window of his new SE Portland guitar studio Eli says, "Its always a pleasure to give guitar lessons to someone just starting out, they are always so enthusiastic and curious. It is a wonderful reminder of why I started playing and giving guitar lessons myself to watch someone new to music have one of those 'A-ha!' moments in a lesson, and its always remarkable how quickly someone's own musical personality starts to take shape, even if they have never played an instrument before."
It has been Eli's decade of classroom and private tutoring experience with guitar students of all ages (from 6 to 70!) and skill levels that has taught him that each person has unique musical gifts. By helping the student to discover their own learning style, he maximizes their ability to absorb new information. Eli's guitar lessons expand on the students unique musical strengths to help overcome any obstacles that might have hindered previous attempts at music. Eli's students find that "talent" comes in many forms, and may be a more elusive concept to nail down than their grade-school piano teacher might have told them all those years ago!
